The 8th and Missing Habit of Highly Fit and Healthy People

If you missed my earlier articles on The Top 3 Habits of Highly Fit and Healthy People and The 4 Forgotten Habits of Highly Fit and Healthy People, you can read them in the following links.
I received great comments and feedback from my readers and clients on all the 7 habits of highly fit and healthy people.
However, deep in my mind, I feel something is still missing. Some of my clients say the same thing. I listed eating, exercise, making time, setting goal, water intake, no-dieting mindset and tracking program as the top 7 healthy habits — look pretty complete.
So, what else is missing?
After some thoughts and soul searching, I discover that these healthy habits are more about external changes and less about habitual programming and mindset changes for sustaining long term success. They’re more about an individual’s own behavioral changes, than influence from the environment.
Here it is that I name the 8th Missing Habit of Highly Fit and Healthy People:
#8 Habit: Sense of Involvement and Community
If you have top 7 habits and become too obsessed about them, you become a gym rat. You turn into a healthy freak. You isolate yourself from the outside world. You care only about yourself.
You may have a physically fit and healthy body but are lack of emotional health and maturity.
Highly fit and healthy people help and share with other people their success by promoting healthy and active lifestyle. They’re involved in their community in many different ways.
One of them is to participate in community services or charity fundraising events that benefit the disadvantages or for good causes. They have healthy hearts, and more than that, they  have BIG hearts that serve and help the community.
If you resonate with me, now go out to run  5K charity races or serve the spaghetti meals.

The Best 321 Calorie Fat Burning Workout in 15 Minutes

Summer is right here now. It's hot and steamy!

Now you can't hide inside your baggy clothes like in winter time.

If you want to lose weight and shed body fat, there’s simply no way aound it. You absolutely must create some sort of caloric deficit. In the end you must burn more calories than you consume.

You have different options of cutting 300 calories. How you do it has far-reaching effect on your body.

There are many different ways of creating a calorie deficit. Some are more effective and efficient than others.

Option #1: Skip a meal

If you want to create an additional 300 calorie deficit a day, you could simply skip your morning bagel. If you skip the cream cheese, you could save 500 calories. (For the record, I'm not anti-bagel.)

Option #2: Walk an hour on the treadmill

You could walk for an hour on the treadmill to create the same 300 calorie deficit.

Option #3: Do 15 minutes of high intensity interval training workout

You could do a 15 minute high intensity interval training workout and create the same 300 calorie deficit.

Now here’s where things get a little more complicated than the numbers suggest.

In all three options, you are essentially creating an additional 300 calorie deficit a day. But not all calories are created equal. Two thumbs down on Option #1 and Option #2. Option#3 thump them all if you can do it.

Why?

Well, first, let’s say that you decide to create your caloric deficit solely by eliminating calories in your diet. This will only result in some nasty hormonal consequences, slowing down your metabolism . Your body will balance out the very deficit you are trying to create.

There are several issues for Option #2. Spending 60 minutes to burn 300 calories? That’s a long time to invest to burn less than a tenth of a single pound of fat. If you want to burn a pound of fat, you’d have to walk for close to 15 hours.

Who has the time?

Not for me.

The second problem with Option #2 is that there is virtually no so-called “afterburn” effect. Once the walking session is over, your calorie burnig–metabolism goes back on it's initial setpoint.

For Option #3, you’re investing much, much less time, but have the added benefit of the “afterburn” or elevated metabolism for the entire day and can last another day or two after the workout.

Which brings me to the question — how do you want to burn your calories?

Do you try to “diet” your pounds away?

Are you hoping to walk away 5, 10, or even 20 lbs? That will probably take you a few years (of walking).

Or have you embraced the power of intense exercise?

Granted, when you're starting up a fitness program, you're not likely to get right to high intensity training. Start slow yet consistently. Gradually increase the frequency, intensity and duration of your training and workout.

My friend, the choice is yours.

Whippany NJ and East Hanover NJ Women Lose Weight, Get Fit, Feel Great with Morris County In-Home Personal Trainer Carey Yang

The leading Morris County in-home personal training company Beyond Fitness Solutions, LLC is expanding its fitness training and nutriton coaching business to serve clients in Whippany NJ and East Hanover NJ area.

Based in Denville, the “hub” of Morris County, Beyond Fitness Solutions LLC has been serving clients in nearby towns as far as 30 miles away.

“There are a lot of benefits of having a in-home personal trainer coming to client’s house for training. Motivation and travel time are two of the biggest reasons,” says Carey Yang, owner and master trainer at Beyond Fitness Solutions, LLC.

Most people would not travel for more than 3 to 5 miles from their homes or work places to work out in a gym or fitness center. Sometimes, they just don’t like to go to gym or fitness center near them if they have the choice.

In-home personal trainers usually travel up to 10 miles around their home bases. Some will charge travel fees if it’s outside of their areas. Most trainers will try to stay as close to their home bases as travel time is really unbillable hours that would kill their profit margins.

“My business has been growing and expanding in the last few years that I have to turn away clients because my schedule is booked full or they’re too far away to make it less cost-effective for them and for me to travel,” Yang says. “With affiliated independent trainers on our team, Beyond Fitness Solultions LLC is able to expand its business and territory to serve more clients and help more people.”

Here are a list of towns in Morris County that Beyond Fitness Solutions, LLC and its trainers are able to travel to, for private in-home fitness training and boot camp group classes.

Best Bridal Shape Up Workout and Boot Camp Training with Morris County NJ In-Home Personal Trainer Carey Yang

A happy client shares her bridal shape-up success story after training with Morris County NJ's #1 In-Home Personal Trainer Carey Yang.

"100% wedding-dress confident. Carey helps me get into the best shape of my life and ready for my wedding!"

To shape up and look my best for my wedding, I trained with Carey for about 3 months. The results are better than I expected. In addition to the hard-core workout with Carey, I learned valuable nutritional education, diet plan and healthy eating habit. I lost a couple of inches on my thighs, my arms, and around my waist and got rid of some cellulite in my trouble area. I have dropped 6 to 7% body fat just in time to fit my wedding dress perfectly. It’s not always easy as I was so busy with work and wedding planning. I wanted to quit so many times. But Carey is always enthusiastic and energetic. He encourages me and helps me get back on track. His workout routines are always innovative and effective that I feel refreshing and every muscle is working hard all the time. I feel particularly confident and strong from the fusion workout mixed in kickboxing, yoga and Pilates. I highly recommend Carey if you want to see results. – Elizabeth M., Parsippany, NJ

Is Tennis Star Anna Kournikova Qualified as a Personal Fitness Trainer for the Biggest Losers?

Tennis star Anna Kournikova is confirmed to join NBC hit show "The Biggest Loser" next season as the fitness trainer. She will replace Jillian Michaels next season.

Ann is well-known for her hot bod and her skills on the court. But I don't know, honestly, if she's qualified as a fitness trainer, not to mention to train the big contestants and to please the TV audience.

The two new trainers on "The Biggest Loser" Cara Castronuova and Brett Hoebell joining the show this season didn't receive much praise.

Well, we'll see in the next season.

Happy Client Praises MOrris County #1 Personal Trainer Carey Yang

Happy Client Praises Morris County Personal Trainer Carey Yang

I started working out with Carey a few weeks ago. I wanted to gain muscle, flexibility and work on my posture. I never thought that I would enjoy doing exercises but I look forward to our sessions. Carey is very knowledgeable about the mechanics of the body and uses this knowledge to make each exercise the most effective it can be, and by making sure that it is done properly, reaping the maximum benefit from the exercise. We do different exercises each time and it is never boring or repetitive, a problem that in the past, would have made me not want to exercise. He targets the areas that I needed the most, while still working the core with each exercise. I would highly recommend him as a trainer and am looking forward to becoming a stronger person through his guidance. I will continue to train with him and to recommend him to my friends who are tired of the whole “gym” thing.
