Build Your Beach-Ready Body with Metabolic Total Body and Core Strength and Cardio Circuit Training

C. Carey Yang,  Certified Personal Trainer
Dream Body WorkoutXpert

It’s April 30 today – the last of April. Weather has been getting better for the spring. And we’re looking forward to summer beach and outdoor season.

Rome wasn’t built in one day, nor is your beach-ready body. It takes time, consistent training with supported nutrition and supplementation.

Instead of waiting until Memorial Day’s weekend to start summer shape-up fitness plan, I’m beginning to journal summer beach-ready workout, training, nutrition and strategies today.

Here is a 5-exercise circuit training workout routine that guarantees to boost your metabolism, challenge your whole body and core, blast calories and burn fat like crazy, because I did it this morning. And I was so pumped up, sweating and my legs were shaking.

I’m feeling good and looking great!

Here is the first summer beach ready workout routine. It’s a circuit training so do these exercises one after another with no or little break (15 seconds at most). Then rest for 2 minutes and repeat for a total of 3 to 5 circuits.

1. Forward Walking Lunges with 1-DB @ 35# Overhead Hold x 8 steps

2. 1-DB @ 35# clean and split jerk x 8 reps

Switch hand for the dumbbell. Repeat 1 and 2 for the other arm holding dumbbell.

3. Barbell Squat Down, Stand up and Side Twist by holding 45#Bar+25# with one hand x 10 reps

4. Barbell Woodchop Oblique Twist holding 45#Bar+25# with the same hand x 10 reps

Switch hand. Repeat 3 and 4 for the other side with the other hand.

5. Bodyweight Fingertip Pushup x 5 reps, then standard pushups x 25 reps.

Morris County Celebrity Personal Trainer Carey Yang Reveals 9 Simple Strategies to Blast 500 Calories

Morris County Celebrity Personal Trainer Carey Yang Reveals Simple calorie-blasting, calorie-saving strategies to help you lose weight and burn more fat all day long. Yang is the president, owner and master trainer of Beyond Fitness Solutions, LLC.

Breakfast
Swap your bagel for an English muffin to slash 220 calories, a glass of whole milk for skim to save 70 calories, and a three-egg omelet for one egg and two egg whites, or pork sausage for turkey sausage to cut about 125 calories each.

Lunch
Try wearing a pedometer to measure out 10,000 steps a day or about 5 miles. You’ll automatically burn 500 calories without even hitting the gym.

Dinner
Rather than depriving yourself of food to drop pounds, simply use smaller plates. If you shrink the size of your dishes by a quarter, such as going from a 12-inch plate to a 9-inch plate, you’ll cut 500 calories without feeling deprived.

Dessert
Save up to 400 calories by making grilled fruit kebabs. Slice one peach and one small banana into quarters, thread four pieces fruit each onto two skewers, and brush with one tbsp honey each. Grill each side for about 4 minutes, or until flesh is tender but still firm. Sprinkle on cinnamon. Or, if you want to have your cake, cut a thin slice of pound cake, layer on berries and top with light whipped cream for a decadent-tasting dessert for less than 150 calories.

Dining Out
Before you head to a chain restaurant, check out the nutrition information on its web site. You’ll be able to make smarter meal choices. Instead of having Chili’s Steak and Portobello Fajitas for 1130 calories, you can choose Chili’s Classic Chicken Fajitas for just 360 calories—a savings of almost 800!

At Work
You can burn up to an extra 500 calories a day without doing a lot of activity simply by standing rather than sitting,. It can make the difference between burning 120 calories an hour versus 60 calories. If you can’t get away from your desk, try standing to make a phone call or read a report. Even shutting your office door to squeeze in 5 minutes of pushups or jumping jacks can burn another 50 calories.

Watching TV
Do some exercise during commercial break such as jumping rope or jogging in place. It burns about 10 calories a minute. If you watch an hour of TV a night and add cardio moves during the 10 commercial breaks that typically air, you could blast up to 300 extra calories without missing your favorite shows.

On Weekends
It's good to sleep in on weekends. Studies show people who get less than 6 hours of sleep eat up to 300 calories more during the day because a lack of sleep triggers the production of the hunger hormone, grehlin. Each extra hour of sleep could save you 100 calories. So don’t set your alarm on Saturday, and if you snooze, you lose.

During Workout
You can burn up to an additional 250 calories in a half-hour, or 500 in an hour, by incorporating intervals versus exercising at the same pace Whether you’re swimming laps, running, riding a stationary bike, or using the treadmill, you can increase the calorie burn by picking up the pace to the point where you are so out of breath that you can’t even talk for 30 seconds, then slow down for one and half minutes to recover.

Happy Client Praises MOrris County #1 Personal Trainer Carey Yang

Happy Client Praises Morris County Personal Trainer Carey Yang

I started working out with Carey a few weeks ago. I wanted to gain muscle, flexibility and work on my posture. I never thought that I would enjoy doing exercises but I look forward to our sessions. Carey is very knowledgeable about the mechanics of the body and uses this knowledge to make each exercise the most effective it can be, and by making sure that it is done properly, reaping the maximum benefit from the exercise. We do different exercises each time and it is never boring or repetitive, a problem that in the past, would have made me not want to exercise. He targets the areas that I needed the most, while still working the core with each exercise. I would highly recommend him as a trainer and am looking forward to becoming a stronger person through his guidance. I will continue to train with him and to recommend him to my friends who are tired of the whole “gym” thing.

Morris County Fitness Expert Says Gluen-Free Diet May Make You Fat

Gluten-free diet craze is riding the wave high these two years. Some experts swear by it that gluten-free will help you lose weight. Some experts debunked the myths. The American public is finding it difficult to take a stand. So who's right?

Dr Oz Gluten Diet

Dr Oz’s show today was called “The Gluten Myth: Is It Really Making Us Fat?”  Turns out, the answer might just be yes!  Is gluten the real enemy these days?  Millions of people currently think that gluten is the #1 thing that is preventing them from losing weight.  Is this a Gluten Myth?  Or is a Gluten-Free Diet a new way to lose weight?

Dr Oz Gluten-Free Products

Dr Oz Gluten-Free Diet

Doctor Oz said that Gluten is what makes bagels chewy and dough elastic.  Gluten is found in wheat, barley and rye.  The scary thing is that 99% of people who have a Gluten Sensitivity do not even know it.  Gluten is actually a protein, not a carb, that is found in the center of a grain and is found in bread, cereals, pizza, pasta and countless other items.

Only ten years ago, nobody was talking about Gluten-Free Diets, but now there are tons of Gluten-Free Products on the market because people have become more aware of Celiac Disease or Gluten Sensitivity (click here to read more about Celiac Disease & Gluten Intolerance).  But is it a good idea to go on a Gluten-Free Diet to help you lose weight if you do not have Celiac Disease or a Gluten Sensitivity?

Dr Oz: Gluten Sensitivity & Celiac Disease

Doctor Oz was joined by Dr Mark Hyman, a medical director at the Ultrawellness Center, to discuss Gluten-Free Diets.  Dr Oz said that first it was transfats, then corn syrup and now gluten is getting the blame for being overweight – but is Gluten really a bad guy?  Dr Hyman said that if you have a Gluten Sensitivity, then eating gluten can really hurt your body because it causes inflammation which is linked to 50 disease including Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Depression, Anemia, Arthritis, and even an increase in your risk of Heart Disease and Cancer.

Dr Oz: Celiac Disease

Dr Oz asked how many people think that a Gluten-Free Diet is the same thing as a Low Carb Diet?  If you think this, then you are wrong, because Gluten is actually a protein and not a carb.  A study was done on patients with Celiac Disease and found that 81% of them gained weight when they went on a Gluten-Free Diet, and most of this is due to the Gluten-Free Junk Food on the market.

Even worse than gaining weight from these Gluten-Free Products is the fact that 20 million Americans have a Gluten Sensitivity and 99% do not even realize it, so they are causing inflammation in their bodies that can cause insulin resistance and a whole slew of other problems (click here to read about Celiac Disease Symptoms: Dr Oz Celiac Disease).

However, if you do not have Gluten Sensitivity or Celiac Disease, then Dr Hyman and Dr Oz both seemed to agree that you should not go on a Gluten-Free Diet, and you should especially avoid Gluten-Free Junk Food because you are paying extra money for products that are just as bad for you if not worse.

Dr Oz: Gluten-Free Diet

Dr Oz brought onto his show Samantha Cassetty RD, a Nutrition Director of Good Housekeeping Research Institute, who said that there are three main problems with Gluten-Free Products:

1.  Gluten-Free Products have more calories.  Cassetty said that Good Housekeeping looked at dozens of regular foods vs Gluten-Free Foods and found that the Gluten-Free options had more calories.  For example, a Gluten-Free Waffle has 270 calories and a regular waffle has 140 calories.  Gluten-Free Crackers have 130 calories, whereas regular crackers have 70 calories.

2.  Gluten-Free Products are lower in fiber, and fiber helps to keep you full so that you do not eat more later on.  A Gluten-Free English Muffin has 1 gram of fiber, whereas a regular English Muffin has 3 grams of fiber.  There are 2 grams of fiber in Gluten-Free Whole Grain Bread, compared to 4 grams of fiber in regular whole grain bread.  So by eating these Gluten-Free Products, you are actually eliminating something from your diet that could help you to lose weight!

3.  Gluten-Free Products generally have more Bad Carbs, which spike your blood sugar and make it harder to control cravings, and they may have less Good Carbs as well.

So what is the bottom line?  Dr Oz firmly believes that there is no reason that anyone should be on a Gluten-Free Diet unless there is a medical reason to be on it (such as Gluten Sensitivity or Celiac Disease).

America's Toughest Strength Trainer Jillian Michaels' New Book UNLIMITED Recommended by Morris County Personal Trainer Carey Yang

With eight million viewers in each NBC hit show The Biggest Loser, Jillian Michaels has catapulted from a California personal trainer to a household name as the America's toughest strength trainer.

Love her or hate her? Maybe both. It's a tough-love.

Her no-BS, no-excuse, take-no-prisoner approach to weight loss and fitness training is exactly what I'm embracing.

More than just losing weight and getting fit, Jillian just released her new book "Unlimited: How to Build an Exceptional Life" that is aimed to help many people to transform their life and build an exceptional life that lasts.

Losing weight involves both inner working and outer workout. Two-thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese. It's a $100-Billion-a-Year weight-loss industry. So many people make their New Year's resolutions to start exercising and eating healthy. Half of them give up by summer. Then they go on diet. The vicious dieting cycle goes around again until holidays.

People must make decisions and really commit to themselves to making the changes. They  have to address to root causes of overweight, not just to patch up the symptoms.

It's about the relationship with YOU. It's about removing the inner roadblocks that prevent you from achieving what you want. In the end, it's about becoming the person you say you want to be.

'Unlimited" helps you understand and use your power to make positive choices that leads to making your dreams become a reality in every aspect of your life.

"Unlimited" offers inspiration and strategies to help the readers build an exception life. It's a must-read for anyone who needs a dose of inspiration, motivation, a roadmap and a complete how-to plan.

Imagine. Believe. Achieve.
